Convocation FAQ
Only students who fulfil all the requirements of graduation before Sunday, June, 30, 2024 are invited to the convocation. Completing your program after Sunday, June, 30, 2024 means you will be included in next year’s convocation.
Graduating students who wish to invite a guest from abroad can access the Convocation Letter here. This letter can be included in the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application as a supporting document to confirm when the convocation is taking place. Please refer to the Government of Canada website for information about inviting guests to visit Canada. Please note that students are responsible for writing their own letter, and individual letters with student and/or guest names are not provided.
Due to capacity limits, only 1 guest ticket can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, guest tickets cannot be guaranteed. However, we understand the importance of sharing this milestone with loved ones, so the ceremony will be broadcast live for those unable to obtain a ticket or attend in person.
No, you will only be permitted to attend your own ceremony. Convocation dates and timings have been carefully planned based on programs and cohorts. You can only attend the ceremony for which you have received an Eventbrite registration link in your FCT email. Individuals without a ticket for each specific ceremony will not be allowed to enter the venue.
All graduating students should arrive at least one (1) hour prior to convocation beginning. This will allow you time to check in, pick up your name card and gown, and get organized for the procession to your ceremony.
Guest seating begins approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. If you are allocated a guest ticket, you will receive details about their arrival times and entrances in a separate email.
All entrances for graduating students will be closed 30 minutes before the ceremony begins, and guest doors are closed 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Please make sure you give yourself time to check in beforehand, so you don’t risk the chances of missing your convocation.
Participants will not be allowed to leave the ceremony before it ends. There will be no in-out privileges during the event.
You will have opportunities to take photos at the photobooths in the lower gallery after the graduation ceremony and during the reception. Your photo will be taken by a professional when you cross the stage, so personal photography will not be allowed during the ceremony.
Graduating students who participate in the convocation will receive their completion documents at the venue after the end of the ceremony. Those who are unable to join should email studentservices@flemingcollegetoronto.ca for instructions on when and where they can pick up their diploma. Please note that diplomas and transcripts are not available before your convocation date.
