FCT Classes Remain in Session on the Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Fleming College Toronto (FCT) would like to inform students and staff that our campus will remain open and that classes will continue as scheduled on September 19th.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared this day a federal holiday in Canada to mark the solemn occasion of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The province of Ontario will mark Sept 19th as a “Day of Mourning,” and people may opt to observe a moment of silence at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The occasion will see federal government employees receiving the day off. Please keep in mind that some federal businesses and services may be closed for the day and plan accordingly.

For questions and concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to studentservices@flemingcollegetoronto.ca.

For further information on Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, please see the official Government of Canada webpage.
