Toronto Food & Drink Fest

When: April 22 to 24

Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre

What: Canada’s largest food and drink festival brings together local chefs, restaurants, wine makers, craft beer brewers, and more. At the Toronto Food & Drink Fest, you can taste some of Toronto’s best culinary delights while learning to cook from some of the best. A festival highlight is the Chef Workshop, where Toronto’s best chefs cook live on stage.

 

Jane’s Walk Festival

When: May 6 to 8

What: Named after the influential urban studies thinker, Jane Jacobs, Jane’s Walk is a community lead-event that involves a series of walking tours across Toronto and other Canadian cities. The tours involve talks and conversations about Toronto’s history, design, urban planning, and future. It can be a wonderful way to learn about the city.

 

Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival

When: March 16 to April 3

Where: Purple Woods Conservation Area

What: In this free event, you can learn how Canada’s most famous condiment, maple syrup, is made. Take a free hike through the sugarbush to find out how sap from maple trees is turned into syrup. Various maple syrup products are available from the heritage store, including maple roasted parmesan dressing and maple garlic dip.

 

Cirque du Soleil's Kurios - Cabinet of Curiosities

When: April 13 to May 23

Where: Under the big top at Ontario Place

What: The largest contemporary circus in the world, Cirque du Soleil hailed from Quebec but has become a household name with its tours and Las Vegas shows. Their new show, Kurios, tells the story of an inventor who defies the laws of space and time to reinvent the world around him.
